Five Guys launches Big Kids Combo without toys, starting at £15.50
Five Guys Big Kids Combo: no toys, £15.50

Five Guys has introduced a new 'Big Kids Combo' that mirrors the concept of a McDonald's Happy Meal but notably excludes any toys. Priced from £15.50, the limited-time offer is designed for the whole family and emphasizes the chain's signature hefty portions.

What's in the Big Kids Combo?

The meal allows customers to build their own burger, swapping the usual single-patty option for a regular two-patty version. It includes up to 15 free toppings, a portion of Mini Fries (Salted or Cajun), and a Big Kids Soda or Little Shake. For an additional cost, the Little Shake can be upgraded to a Big Kids Shake. A build-your-own kids' menu has been available since 2025, but this new combo marks a shift toward larger portions for older children and adults.

No Toy, All Food

Unlike McDonald's, which currently offers World Cup-themed toys in Happy Meals, Five Guys has taken a firm stance against including toys. The meal's official slogan, 'No. Toy. Needed,' underscores this decision. According to the chain, the focus is entirely on the food, not on collectibles. This approach contrasts with the nostalgia many Brits associate with Happy Meal toys, which have featured pop culture icons like Beanie Babies, Hot Wheels, Pokemon, and Disney over the decades.

TikTok users have expressed strong feelings about the toys. @Luca shared that 'the nostalgia [he] gets from a Happy Meal toy is unexplainable,' while @Nyx added that seeing others post about their collectibles is 'like finding old memories that I thought were gone.' However, for parents tired of clutter, the no-toy policy may be a relief.

Customer Reactions

Despite the missing toys, many customers have welcomed the new combo. On Instagram, @mrskeltonelli wrote: 'Good! I've been thinking about a five guys for a very long time.' @hima_sai commented: 'Love seeing campaigns like this.' @Sarahbeauty added: 'Please make this a permanent addition!' The chain's regular kids' meal, starting at £7, remains available for smaller appetites, offering a Little Hamburger, Hot Dog, or Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Mini Fries and a Little Shake or Mini Soda.

Part of a Summer Savings Initiative

The Big Kids Combo is exclusively available for dine-in customers at select UK stores as part of the Great British Summer Savings project. This industry-wide initiative, announced by the Labour government in May, aims to ease financial burdens on families amid rising fuel, energy, and food costs. The project includes discounts on theme parks, cinemas, theatres, supermarkets, free bus travel for under-15s, and a freeze on fuel duty. The Five Guys offer will run until September 1.
