An 18,800-square-foot mural of Felix the Cat has been unveiled under Heathrow Airport's flight path to the USA, telling football fans 'It's coming home'. Pet food brand Felix arranged a surprise for passengers flying from the London airport to watch England’s opener against Croatia on Wednesday.
Those with a window seat will spot the massive mural featuring Felix with his mischievous eye on a mouse, accompanied by the iconic phrase 'It’s coming home'. Supporters will be hoping to see Tuchel’s squad lift the World Cup this summer after 60 years of hurt, as the song Three Lions goes.
The image is accompanied by the brand’s strapline ‘it’s great to be a cat’. The mural will be visible from the air until at least June 18, and images have been captured by a specialist aerial photography team for those on the ground to see.
Accompanying the helicopter photo crew was celebrity commentator and YouTube megastar Chunkz, who also captured exclusive content for his TikTok. Felix's Issy Smithson said: 'This is our biggest, boldest advert yet for Felix, both in terms of sheer scale and wit. We're bringing Felix’s signature mischief to the heart of the most important cultural conversations of the moment.'
