Katie Swan delivered the biggest upset of Wimbledon 2026 so far, defeating world No. 1 Iga Swiatek 6-4, 6-3 on Day Four at the All England Club. The British wildcard, ranked 198th, broke Swiatek three times and saved five of six break points to seal victory in 1 hour 22 minutes.

"I don't think I've ever played that well in my life," Swan said. "I just tried to stay aggressive and make her play one more ball. It's a dream come true." Swiatek, winner of four Grand Slams including Wimbledon in 2024, struggled with unforced errors, tallying 28 to Swan's 14. Swan next faces 12th seed Paula Badosa.

Other winners on Day Four

Madison Keys advanced with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Camila Giorgi. Keys hit 22 winners and broke serve four times. Alexander Zverev survived a five-set thriller against Alex de Minaur, winning 6-7 (5), 7-6 (5), 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 in 3 hours 48 minutes. Zverev fired 18 aces and will face 20th seed Sebastian Korda.

Taylor Fritz defeated Dan Evans 7-5, 6-3, 7-6 (4) in a match interrupted by a 30-minute rain delay. Fritz converted 4 of 9 break points and saved all three break points he faced. Defending champion Elena Rybakina beat Marie Bouzkova 6-2, 6-4, winning 83% of first-serve points. Rybakina will face 15th seed Beatriz Haddad Maia in the third round.

In other results, 2021 champion Novak Djokovic beat qualifier Maxime Janvier 6-3, 6-4, 6-2, while women's No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka defeated Viktoriya Tomova 6-1, 6-4. Men's No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz advanced after Jiri Lehecka retired due to a leg injury trailing 6-4, 4-1. The tournament saw a total of 17 seeded players eliminated across the first four days, the most since 2012.
