Police in Coronation Street believe they have found Theo Silverton's murderer, but tonight's episode proved them wrong. Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) was arrested after becoming the prime suspect. She was seen wearing a brooch later found in Theo's flat, leading to questioning. George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) told DS Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) that Summer lied about her whereabouts on the night of Theo's death. Summer Maintains Innocence
During interrogation, Summer insisted Theo was alive when she left. She recalled that Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) saw her leaving and looked up at the window where Theo stood. She believed Tyrone would confirm her story. However, Lisa returned with news that Tyrone did not back up her alibi.

Alone in her cell, Summer had a flashback to the night of Theo's murder. Theo threatened her, warning that if she spoke out, she'd see Billy Mayhew sooner than she'd like. Billy died earlier this year after Theo trapped him in a burning minivan during the Corriedale pile-up. Shocked, Summer left Theo alive, as she told police.
Despite her account, Lisa charged Summer with murder, stating she would likely remain in prison until trial. Viewers are left wondering if the truth will come out or if Summer will spend life in prison for a crime she didn't commit.
