Spain produced a stunning performance to defeat France 2-1 in the World Cup semifinal on Wednesday, booking their place in the final against either England or Argentina.
First-Half Dominance
Spain took the lead in the 18th minute through Dani Olmo, who fired a low shot past French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris after a brilliant through ball from Pedri. France struggled to create chances, with Kylian Mbappe largely kept quiet by the Spanish defense.
Spain doubled their advantage just before half-time when Ferran Torres headed home from a corner, leaving France with a mountain to climb.
France Fight Back
France pulled one back in the 67th minute through Antoine Griezmann, who curled a free kick into the top corner. Despite late pressure, Spain held on to secure the victory.
"We knew it would be tough, but the team showed incredible character," said Spain coach Luis de la Fuente. "Now we focus on the final."
