Chelsea and former England footballer Raheem Sterling has been targeted by burglars for the third time in seven years, in a frightening incident that occurred while he was at home with his family.
Intruders Disturbed During Break-In
The latest violation took place at the 30-year-old's luxury property in Berkshire. Intruders broke into the home at approximately 6:30 pm on Saturday, creating a terrifying situation for the athlete and his loved ones who were present inside.
Fortunately, the burglars were disturbed during the act and fled the scene. A representative for Sterling confirmed that the perpetrators did not manage to steal any items before their hasty escape.
A Troubling Pattern of Targeted Attacks
This alarming event marks the third time Sterling's privacy and safety have been compromised in just seven years. The pattern of targeting the footballer's residences raises serious concerns about the security of high-profile sports personalities.
In a statement, his representative said, "Whilst the ultimate violation of privacy and safety, we are thankful to be able to confirm that he and his loved ones are all safe." The statement also made a plea for the family's privacy to be respected during this challenging time.
In December 2022, Sterling's previous home in Oxshott, Leatherhead, Surrey, was burgled. On that occasion, thieves made off with jewellery and watches valued at around £300,000. The player was away at the World Cup in Qatar at the time and was said to be deeply affected, returning home early due to being "shaken" and "concerned for the wellbeing of his children."
Prior to that, in 2018, his home in Goostrey, Cheshire, was also targeted. During that attempted break-in, the thieves were thwarted when the property's alarm system was activated, causing them to flee.

This repeated targeting of one of English football's most prominent figures highlights a growing issue. The series of invasions, spanning properties across Surrey, Cheshire, and now Berkshire, points to a calculated pattern that leaves players and their families feeling vulnerable in their own homes.
