QPR Boss Stephan Praises Norrington-Davies as Loan Spell Impresses
QPR boss quizzed on Sheffield United defender's future

Queens Park Rangers head coach Julien Stephan has addressed growing speculation about the future of Sheffield United defender Rhys Norrington-Davies, who continues to impress during his season-long loan at Loftus Road.

Stephan Remains Coy on Permanent Deal

The QPR manager offered measured praise for the 26-year-old full-back when questioned about a potential permanent transfer following last weekend's 0-0 draw at Bramall Lane. Norrington-Davies has become an essential component of Stephan's defence, making 10 Championship appearances since arriving in west London.

"He's a very dynamic player," Stephan told reporters. "He has started very well with us. He did some very good performances and then he had a little injury. We played Sheffield Wednesday and Oxford in four days and he was probably the best player on the pitch in the two games."

From Bramall Lane Outcast to Loftus Road Lifeline

Norrington-Davies' move to QPR came after he had fallen down the pecking order at Sheffield United, with former Blades boss Ruben Selles approving the loan departure. The transfer has proven timely for the R's, who faced a defensive crisis following the departures of Kenneth Paal and Harrison Ashby, combined with Ziyad Larkeche's injury.

Despite a minor calf issue that sidelined him for two weeks, Norrington-Davies has quickly regained his form. Stephan highlighted his recent performance against Southampton as particularly impressive, noting the defender's reliability in both defensive and offensive situations.

"He's able to win a one-v-one defensively and he's able to run offensively as well, to support our offensive players," Stephan explained. "He has good quality as well in crosses. He's a good player who gives us important reliability on both sides of the game."

Charlton Striker Shines in League Two

Meanwhile, Charlton Athletic's young prospect Daniel Kanu continues to make waves during his loan spell at Walsall. The 20-year-old striker netted his fifth League Two goal of the season during a crucial 4-2 victory over Newport County last weekend.

Kanu's exceptional form has contributed significantly to Walsall's position at the top of the table, earning him the League Two Young Player of the Month award in September. The promising forward has spoken enthusiastically about his time with The Saddlers, praising the team's cohesion and attacking potential.

"We have the ability to create havoc," Kanu said last month. "We've got great presence in the team, players that can play one-twos, players that can strike from distance, the whole lot. One thing I love about this group is we're connected."

As the Championship season progresses, both loan moves appear to be benefiting all parties involved, with players developing their skills while making meaningful contributions to their temporary clubs.
