Jeremy Clarkson was visibly emotional as his Hawkstone Farmers Choir was crowned the winner of Britain's Got Talent 2026. The 66-year-old former Top Gear host jumped out of his chair and embraced his group in tears after the result was announced.
A Historic Win for the Farmers Choir
Formed initially for a beer advert, the choir stuck together and used their platform to raise awareness of mental health issues in the farming community. They received a golden buzzer in their audition and became the first choir to win BGT, beating stiff competition from dog acts, fire-jugglers, and drone performers.
The finalists included Matty Juniosa, Sadeck Berrabah and LMA, Fabian Fox, Liwei Yang, Ted Hill, Sonny Green, and Rafferty Coope. Anastasiia and Salsa placed third, while Celestial came second.
Viewer Reactions and Controversies
Not all viewers were impressed, with many calling it the worst final in BGT history. Some noted the show's declining viewership from 10 million to 3 million. The series also faced controversies, including KSI's resurfaced offensive jokes and a 'self-harm' act that prompted Ofcom complaints.
Despite the backlash, the win was a joyous moment for Clarkson and his choir. The show also featured a Sinatra Musical opener and a Mis-Teeq reunion. BGT's 20th anniversary is set for 2027.
