The Northern Premier League Midlands Division fixture between Coventry Sphinx and AFC Rushden & Diamonds was called off after a deeply concerning incident occurred towards the end of the first half. AFC Rushden & Diamonds released a statement confirming that attempts to identify the individual responsible were unsuccessful. Elliot Sandy, the manager of AFC Rushden & Diamonds, provided further detail in an interview with the club's media. He explained that the referee initially stopped the match to have the individual removed from the premises. However, the situation had already caused significant distress.
