Emmerdale's Belle Discovers Kammy's Devastating Homelessness Secret
Emmerdale's Belle Unearths Kammy's Homelessness Secret

Emmerdale's Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor Draper) is disgusted with herself as she investigates Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah), sensing red flags after her abusive ex Tom. But is Kammy really a wrong'un? He's carrying a huge secret, and though he thinks no one knows, Belle senses something is off.

Kammy visits Belle at work, but his behavior is odd. Belle uses Eid as an excuse to dig about his family, but he shuts her down. When he receives a text from Aaron about a barn fire and legs it, Aaron (Danny Miller) and Robert (Ryan Hawley) suspect him of arson.

Belle later finds herself alone with Kammy's phone and nearly snoops, stopping herself just in time. She tells Dawn (Olivia Bromley) about her distrust, but still can't shake the feeling he's lying. And he is: Kammy is setting up a sleeping bag in a barn. His big secret? He's homeless.

Producer Sophie Roper said: 'This storyline is a vital look at hidden homelessness, showing that people can be living on the edge of society while still holding down a job and maintaining relationships. We wanted to challenge the perception of what homelessness looks like.'

Robert and Aaron get a tip-off about someone dodgy in a field and find Kammy with a petrol can. He claims he planned to torch his car, but they don't believe him. After another barn fire, Aaron calls the police, and Kammy is arrested.

Will Belle find out she was right? Shebz hinted there's hope: 'It's not a smooth ride, but it's worth it. There is a somewhat happy ending for both of them. Kammy is Belle's Prince Charming. Fans will enjoy seeing this chaotic yet innocent duo.'

Shebz also revealed Kammy will come clean to Belle about his homelessness: 'He's not had anyone care for him sincerely. He puts his hand up and confesses everything.' So perhaps he's not the arsonist after all.
