EastEnders fans obsessed with Cleo but she's only in two episodes

EastEnders fans have fallen in love with new character Cleo, portrayed by theatre star Mazz Murray, within seconds of her debut. However, there is disappointing news: Cleo will only feature in two episodes.

Cleo's Arrival and Immediate Fan Reaction

Cleo, the mother of Joel Marshall (Max Murray), arrived on Albert Square this week alongside her abusive son, who was recently released from prison after a vicious attack on his stepmother Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig). Despite not speaking a single line in her opening scene, viewers quickly expressed their adoration. X user Ryan said: 'Obsessed with Mazz Murray not even uttering a single word while flawlessly sliding across the screen to reveal Joel.' Podcast Albert Square: After Dark echoed the sentiment, writing: 'She has so far been on screen for two and a half seconds, hasn't said a word and I already want a regular contract and possibly to have her run the Vic?' Angel K added: 'Obsessed with Cleo having no surname in the end credits.'

Bad News: Cleo's Limited Appearance

Despite the positive reception, Cleo will only appear in two episodes. In upcoming scenes, she reveals that her son can no longer live with her, contrary to a previous arrangement. This comes as a huge shock to ex-husband Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) and Vicki, who have just returned to the Square after their honeymoon.

Mazz Murray's Experience

Mazz Murray expressed her joy at being part of the episodes, stating: 'It was so wonderful to be part of these EastEnders episodes as we delve into Joel's familial past, and my experience was made all the better working alongside my talented, gorgeous nephew Max. And also, my childhood school friend Alex Walkinshaw playing my ex-husband!' Murray previously appeared on EastEnders in 2004 as Miranda and in 2017 as Julie.
