Crystal Palace Ready to Pursue Chelsea's Liam Rosenior for Managerial Role
Crystal Palace are reportedly preparing to make a bold move for Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior should he become available this summer, as the club seeks a replacement for outgoing boss Oliver Glasner.
Search for Glasner's Successor Intensifies
The Eagles are actively scouting the market for potential managerial candidates ahead of Glasner's departure at the end of the current season. Some targets are currently employed at other clubs, while others are free agents, with the search expected to continue through the summer months as fans eagerly await news of potential appointments.
Rosenior Emerges as Prime Target
According to former scout Mick Brown, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider, Palace have maintained long-term interest in Rosenior dating back to before his tenure at Chelsea. Brown revealed, "If he was to be sacked by Chelsea, he's somebody Crystal Palace will be looking at, because they've been long-term admirers since before he came to Chelsea."
Rosenior has faced increasing pressure at Chelsea following a disappointing run of results in recent weeks, potentially making him available for a new challenge. Brown emphasized Rosenior's strong reputation, noting, "The people I speak to at Hull City speak very, very highly of him, the way they played under him, the organisation, the way he interacted with his players."
Proven Track Record and High Praise
The former Strasbourg manager earned significant praise during his time in France and at Hull City, where he was commended for his tactical organization and player management skills. Brown added, "Everything about him as a manager, I've heard nothing but praise about until he's gone to Chelsea and results maybe haven't been as they'd have hoped."
This established reputation makes Rosenior an attractive option for Crystal Palace as they plan their post-Glasner era. Brown confirmed, "If he was to leave Chelsea, they'd be alerted to that and he's somebody I'm sure they would be looking at as an option to replace Glasner. It's certainly something Palace will be keeping an eye on."
The managerial situation at Selhurst Park remains fluid, with Rosenior representing a potentially strategic acquisition should Chelsea decide to make a change in their dugout this summer.
