Crystal Palace Defender Eyes Manchester United Move
Crystal Palace defender Daniel Munoz has openly discussed his ambition to play for Manchester United, describing it as a "dream" transfer destination. The 29-year-old Colombian international made these revealing comments ahead of his national team's friendly match against New Zealand in Florida.
From Genk to Premier League Success
Munoz joined Crystal Palace in January last year in a deal worth £6.8 million from Belgian club Genk. Since his arrival in the Premier League, the right-back has rapidly established himself as one of the division's most impressive defenders. His consistent performances earned him a new contract in April that will keep him at Selhurst Park until 2028.
The Colombian defender's standout moment came during May's FA Cup final at Wembley, where he was named Player of the Match after Palace's memorable victory over Manchester City. This achievement further enhanced his growing reputation within English football.
Dream Clubs Revealed
When questioned about transfer speculation linking him with moves away from Crystal Palace, Munoz didn't hesitate to name his preferred destinations. "Everything I hear out there, all the talk about one club or another, if you ask me, for me it would be a dream to play for one of these clubs," Munoz stated.
He specifically mentioned Manchester United alongside European giants Barcelona, PSG, and Real Madrid as clubs he aspires to represent. "I work towards that, I strive every day, so that maybe one day I can catch the attention of one of these clubs because it's a dream for me," he added.
Despite his ambitions, the defender maintained his professional focus, emphasising that he remains committed to Crystal Palace and the Colombian national team. Munoz clarified that he has no concrete information about interest from any of these clubs and pays little attention to social media speculation.
The player's current priority remains performing well for Crystal Palace while representing his country in international fixtures. However, his comments have undoubtedly sparked discussion about potential future moves for one of the Premier League's most consistent defenders.
