Coronation Street fans are in for another emotional rollercoaster as Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) faces a devastating new twist. Just when it seemed the nightmare with his abusive husband Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) was over, a figure from Theo's past returns to drop a bombshell on Todd's life.
Theo's Abusive Cycle
Todd's ordeal at the hands of Theo seemed endless. Every time he tried to escape the violence and vitriol, Theo would turn on the waterworks, offering excuses and false promises, luring Todd back into the toxic cycle. A particularly brutal beating finally forced Todd to report Theo to the police, but Theo refused to accept defeat and returned to torment him further. In a nail-biting final showdown, Theo lay dead on the cobbles, killed by a mystery attacker.
Multiple Suspects
Now Todd is in the frame for Theo's murder, along with his closest friends George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), and Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), as well as Theo's former friend and local antihero Gary Windass (Mikey North). But one suspect is definitely not on Todd's side: Theo's ex-wife Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson).
Danielle's Return
Danielle's first visit to Weatherfield was disastrous. Theo came out as gay and ended their marriage to be with Todd, leaving Danielle furious. She even seduced Todd's brother Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) to humiliate them. Now, as the murder investigation intensifies, Danielle returns to tear Todd's life apart with a shocking allegation.
When Todd tells Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) he won't attend Theo's funeral, things worsen as Danielle publicly accuses Todd of murdering Theo for his life insurance money. When Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) defends Todd and suggests she might have killed Theo herself, Danielle storms out. Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) follows her and reveals he saw her near the crime scene on the night of the murder.
Was Danielle right about Todd? Did he murder Theo for a fresh start with the insurance money, or is that what Danielle wants everyone to believe? Fans will have to wait and see.
