Context and Recent Events
This incident follows a similar occurrence just weeks earlier, when large groups of teenagers gathered on Clapham High Street, forcing local shops to close early as police struggled to control the situation. During that event, families and passersby were barricaded inside stores as hundreds of youths congregated after schools closed for the Easter holidays in April. Footage from that gathering showed fires being lit and fireworks being set off on Clapham Common.
Police continue to investigate and maintain a presence in the area. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact authorities.
