The first photograph has been released of a man who was fatally stabbed in the center of Wimbledon in southwest London over the weekend. Luke Brereton, a 40-year-old resident of Mitcham, was on a night out along the bustling high street when he was attacked shortly after half past midnight.

Metropolitan Police officers were called to the scene at 12:37 a.m. on Sunday, February 22, following reports of a stabbing on The Broadway in Wimbledon. Emergency services arrived promptly and discovered Luke at the location. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival.
