Two arrested after man killed in Cheshunt car park attack

Essex Police have arrested two people in connection with the murder of a man who was found with serious injuries in a car park in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital on Monday, June 22, and died four days later.

Arrests made

A 24-year-old man was detained on Friday, and a 17-year-old boy was arrested on Saturday, both from London. They have been released on bail pending further investigations, Essex Police confirmed in a statement.

Detectives believe the victim was in the Waltham Abbey or Waltham Cross area before the assault. He was last seen in an MG ZS car, which has now been located following a public appeal.

Investigation progress

Detective Chief Inspector Greg Wood said: "Our work has progressed quickly since the man was found with significant injuries in Hertfordshire. Two arrests have been made and the MG vehicle, which is a key element of the investigation, has been found thanks to members of the public coming forward."

He added: "At the heart of this investigation is a man whose family continue to grieve for him, and they continue to be supported by our specialist liaison officers."

Appeal for information

Police are urging anyone with relevant information to contact them on 101, quoting Operation Tenfield. Reports can also be submitted via the Major Investigation Public Portal. The victim has not yet been formally identified.
