Police Release Images of Key Witness in Primrose Hill Murder Investigation
Metropolitan Police detectives have issued a public appeal for a young woman or teenage girl who is considered a key witness in the fatal stabbing of Finbar Sullivan on Primrose Hill. The 21-year-old victim was killed during a violent altercation at the popular North London viewpoint at approximately 6:40 PM on Tuesday, April 7.
Urgent Appeal for Witness with Vital Footage
Investigators have released surveillance images showing the witness, who was captured on film recording a fight in the park shortly before Sullivan was attacked. Police emphasize that she has not committed any offence and is being treated purely as a witness whose cooperation could prove crucial to solving the case.
The footage shows her wearing distinctive clothing: a pink vest, blue denim shorts, and black trainers. Detective Inspector Andy Griffin, leading the investigation, stated: "My team continues to pursue several urgent lines of enquiry to establish why Fin tragically lost his life. I believe this woman's account of events, as well as the video she captured, will provide vital evidence."
Details of the Tragic Incident
Finbar Sullivan had reportedly gone to Primrose Hill to meet an undergraduate student friend. During the confrontation, his friend—identified only as AJ and believed to be studying at the University of Nottingham—was also stabbed in the hand and back while attempting to intervene and save Sullivan's life.
The victim's father, musician Christopher Sullivan, spoke publicly about his devastating loss: "This is the worst tragedy I could ever imagine. He's my only son... I had him when I was 45. He can never be replaced. I'm so broken-hearted, I can't believe it. He was the most beautiful, lovely, outgoing, loving boy."
He added that his son had recently purchased a new camera with family contributions for his 21st birthday and had taken it to the park to do some filming on the day of the attack.
Police Reassurance and Continued Investigation
The Met Police have explicitly reassured the witness that she faces no legal jeopardy for her involvement. Detective Inspector Griffin emphasized: "To reiterate, she has not committed any offence but we are urging her, or anyone who may know her, to come forward and assist our investigation. We need to speak to her as soon as possible."
