Incident at Tower Retail Park

The alarm was triggered after youths reportedly caused disruption at the retail centre in south east London. Staff at the Currys store activated the panic button when the group refused to leave the premises, prompting a swift police response.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Crayford Safer Neighbourhood Team attended the scene and conducted a search of the surrounding area to locate the individuals involved.

Police Statement on Anti-Social Behaviour

Joyce Barlow, a PCSO with the Metropolitan Police's Crayford Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "Officers were nearby on patrol and are aware of ASB (anti-social behaviour) and theft in the retail park."

"We gained descriptions of the youths concerned and an area search was conducted," Barlow added. "Crayford SNT will be in and around the area in order to identify any individuals concerned in ASB and theft."

Ongoing Patrols and Community Response

The Crayford Safer Neighbourhood Team has indicated it will maintain a presence in and around the retail park to address ongoing concerns about anti-social behaviour and theft. The incident highlights the challenges faced by local businesses in managing disruptive behaviour.

Police have not reported any arrests at this time, and the search for the youths involved is ongoing. The retail park remains open to the public, and officers continue to patrol the area to reassure staff and shoppers.
