Man found dead in suitcase during teddy bear hunt

The first image has emerged of Dale Mundell, 34, from Islington, who was found dead inside a suitcase at Borstal Recreation Ground in Kent on Friday. The discovery was made by a mother attending a teddy bear hunt organized as a fundraiser for a local nursery.

Discovery at the park

The mother, who wished to remain anonymous, told KentOnline that she saw the suitcase before police arrived. 'What I saw was the suitcase covered in hundreds of flies. I actually heard the buzzing from them first. I noticed that it was a large suitcase and had a snow sledge next to it,' she said. She was with her niece and nephew and worked to keep them away from the scene.

Charges and court appearance

Joshua Miller, 32, and Jamie Cooper, 27, have been charged with murder and preventing a lawful burial. They appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and have been remanded into custody. Police confirmed that the victim and both men were known to each other.
