Man Charged with Murder in Primrose Hill Stabbing of Student Finbar Sullivan
A 27-year-old man has been formally charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a 21-year-old filmmaking student in Primrose Hill. Oliuwadamilola Ogunyankinnu, of Southbury Road in Enfield, is accused of killing Finbar Sullivan at the popular viewpoint in Camden park on April 7.
Emergency Response to Fatal Incident
Emergency services were called to reports of a large fight at 6.41pm on that evening. Witnesses allegedly observed a group of individuals knifing a man to the ground. Paramedics arrived swiftly and treated Finbar Sullivan for multiple stab wounds, but he tragically died at the scene a short time later.
The Metropolitan Police issued a statement this afternoon confirming that Ogunyankinnu was charged earlier today, April 12. He was initially arrested on Friday and is scheduled to appear at Stratford Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
Family's Heartbreaking Tribute
Finbar's father, Christopher Sullivan, spoke to The Daily Mail, revealing that his son had gone to Primrose Hill to use a new camera he received as a birthday gift. The family had collectively contributed to purchase the camera for him.
"This is the worst tragedy I could ever imagine," Christopher expressed. "He’s my only son… I had him when I was 45. He can never be replaced."
He added, "I’m so broken-hearted, I can’t believe it. He was the most beautiful, lovely, outgoing, loving boy. He was just a really lovely person."
Christopher, a musician, noted that his son had aspirations to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, cameraman Michael Seresin, who worked on notable films such as Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban and Rambo III.
Investigation Updates and Appeals
In related developments, a 25-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released with no further action taken against him.
