Man Charged with Murder After Body Found on Bristol Roof Garden

A 50-year-old man has been charged with murder after a beloved man was discovered dead in a roof garden in Bristol, according to police. Anthony Clemmings, known as Tony, was found by a member of the public in the roof garden of a block of flats on Redcliff Street shortly before 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday. The 54-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Arrest and Charges

Nigel Lubban, of no fixed abode, was arrested in the West Midlands area on Friday on suspicion of murder. He has since been charged with the murder of Mr. Clemmings and is scheduled to appear at Bristol Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Detective Chief Inspector Laura Miller of the major crime investigation team stated: 'Our inquiries into Tony's death have been progressing well since Tuesday, and an arrest has now been made. We have updated Tony's family of this significant development, and specially-trained officers are still supporting them.'

Family's Tribute

Earlier, Mr. Clemmings' family released a statement describing him as a 'much-loved son, brother and uncle' who will be greatly missed. They said: 'Tony was a lovely man to all those who truly knew him. His death has come as a huge shock to us, and we ask for privacy as we try to come to terms with what has happened.'

The police have urged the public to respect the family's privacy during this difficult time. The investigation is ongoing.
