Killer Convicted After Bragging About Fatal Stabbing of Student on Railway Tracks

A remorseless killer was captured on audio boasting "I stabbed him fully" after murdering a young accounting student during a violent altercation over a drug deal on London railway tracks. Dino Donaldson, aged 21 from Caxton Road in Ealing, west London, has been found guilty of the brutal murder of Anojan Gnaneswaran, which occurred at Strawberry Hill station in Twickenham, south-west London on January 8, 2024.

Deadly Confrontation Over Drug Transaction

The fatal incident erupted when a confrontation broke out between two groups of men on the station platform. The dispute centered on a planned drug transaction involving £50 for 10 MDMA tablets. During the escalating violence, Donaldson aggressively pursued Mr. Gnaneswaran, aged 21, onto the active railway tracks where he inflicted multiple stab wounds to the victim's chest, abdomen, and thigh.

Tragically, Mr. Gnaneswaran was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. In a shocking display of callousness, less than one hour after the murder, Donaldson was recorded on CCTV footage aboard an N87 night bus, where he appeared to be smiling and laughing without any apparent remorse.

Chilling Audio Evidence and Subsequent Arrest

Further damning evidence emerged from a doorbell camera that captured Donaldson's voice stating: "I stabbed him through the back bro, I stabbed him fully. I watched it and I felt it go in him, yeah." This chilling audio recording provided crucial evidence for investigators building their case against the perpetrator.

Donaldson was eventually apprehended at his west London residence on January 11, 2024, where police discovered him attempting to conceal himself inside a cupboard. During a search of his bedroom, authorities uncovered 74 individual wraps containing crack cocaine and heroin with an estimated street value exceeding £1,000.

Court Proceedings and Emotional Tributes

Following a unanimous guilty verdict from the jury, Judge Angela Rafferty KC ordered Donaldson to remain in custody while sentencing was adjourned to a future date. British Transport Police Detective Chief Inspector Paul Attwell commented on the case, stating: "What began as an argument over a drug deal culminated in a young man's life being brutally ended by a remorseless thug. Donaldson demonstrated his cowardice by arming himself with a knife that evening."

The detective further emphasized that while no legal outcome could ever compensate for the loss of Anojan, he hoped the conviction would provide some measure of closure for the grieving family. Mr. Gnaneswaran's family released an emotional tribute through British Transport Police, describing him as a "much-loved son and brother" who was excelling in his third year of accounting and finance studies at university.

They highlighted his athletic achievements, noting he had earned a first-dan black belt in karate and had competed in both World and European championships. The family expressed profound grief over the loss of a young man who had been eagerly anticipating his future with great excitement and promise.
