Deliveroo Disguise Hitman Jailed 38 Years for Shooting Girl, 8, and Father
Hitman disguised as Deliveroo rider jailed for 38 years

A man suspected of being a contract killer, who wore a Deliveroo disguise to carry out shootings, has been sentenced to 38 years behind bars for the attempted murder of a father and for wounding his eight-year-old daughter.

A Birthday Celebration Shattered by Gunfire

The court heard how Jazz Reid, 33, fired a volley of 11 shots at a car in Ladbroke Grove, north-west London, on 24 November. Inside were a 34-year-old man, his young daughter, and other family members. The girl had just spent the day celebrating her birthday.

The father was hit five times, with bullets striking his back, chest, abdomen and pelvis. His daughter was shot twice, suffering injuries to her buttocks and foot. The child's mother told the Old Bailey the incident had left her daughter "a shadow of the bubbly, bright, larger than life character she once was".

A Calculated Disguise and a Series of Attacks

Prosecutor Michael Goodwin KC said Reid planned and executed the shootings with "precision". His method involved driving a hire car to an area, changing into a Deliveroo rider's outfit – complete with a takeaway box – and using an e-bike to approach his targets.

This attack was one of three linked shootings. The first occurred on 9 October 2024, when Reid wounded a man named Ameile Buncombe in the thigh at a home in Notting Hill. On 11 November 2024, he made an initial attempt to shoot the 34-year-old father, firing four shots at a north London address linked to the victim.

Following Reid's arrest on 26 November near his home in Uxbridge, police found a gun hidden under a concrete slab outside his property. Another 9mm pistol linked to the earlier shootings was later seized.

Justice Served, But Lives Forever Changed

Reid, a convicted drug dealer, denied all charges, claiming he was "set up" over a debt and that the gun was planted. He was found guilty last November of the attempted murder of the father, wounding the girl with intent, wounding the second man, and multiple firearms offences.

On Thursday, Judge Sarah Whitehouse KC sentenced Reid to 38 years in prison, with a further five years on extended licence. She noted the lack of motive was deeply concerning and raised the possibility of "contract killings", suggesting the crimes may have been for "drug dealing or some other financial gain".

In a powerful victim impact statement, the mother of the injured girl described how Reid's actions had "completely shattered" their lives. Her partner is now unable to walk, and her daughter suffers daily trauma and anxiety. "It makes me sick there is still a bullet inside my baby girl," she told the court.

Detective Inspector Richard Scott from the Metropolitan Police stated: "This was a truly shocking series of crimes carried out by a man intent on committing murder. He intended to kill his targets but also ended up seriously injuring an innocent young girl."
