In a brazen display of defiance, fugitive drill rapper Daniel Boakye, who performs under the name DSAVV, has released a new video taunting police with a 'Catch me if you can' rap, following his escape from custody over a week ago. The 21-year-old, who is also a convicted armed robber, fled from University Hospital Lewisham on Sunday, February 15, 2026, marking his second such escape from authorities.
Mocking Authorities in Social Media Video
In the video posted on social media, a young man claiming to be Boakye is seen sitting in a dark room, boasting about his freedom and mocking the police's inability to locate him. He raps, 'I'm that guy I'm the boss of the UK. Done it twice now they think I'm insane. On my side we've got guns from Ukraine. Catch me if you can, I'm in a Wray on the way to the plane. I'm a magician like poof out of space.'
While the video is likely to frustrate law enforcement, hip-hop fans have been less impressed, with one commenter noting, 'He would be the biggest legend in UK Rap history if he could rap well.'
Criminal Background and Gang Links
Boakye is understood to have links to the London gang OFB – Original Farm Boys – based in Tottenham's Broadwater Farm estate. His lyrics often boast of violent crimes, including knife offenses. In one rap, he says, 'Man plug that shank in his socket. You should've saw the way he ran, that muppet. Still caught him and I chinged that muppet. Crime scene juice got spilled like bucket.'
Between June 2021 and January 2022, Boakye and three other teenagers engaged in a spree of robberies and attempted robberies across London and Essex. Armed with knives, they forced victims to hand over mobile phones and provide passcodes, then transferred over £115,000 in cryptocurrency into 'hot wallets.' They also used stolen bank details for fraudulent transactions, such as buying takeaway orders, which ultimately led to their capture by detectives.
Police Response and Ongoing Search
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson stated, 'We are searching for a 21-year-old man who absconded from Lewisham hospital at around 15:05hrs on Sunday, 15 February. Daniel Boakye was in police custody at the hospital receiving medical treatment when he fled. Officers gave chase but could not detain Boakye before he left the building.'
Boakye is described as black, of medium height and slim build, last seen wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a dark Nike jacket. The Met's Directorate of Professional Standards is reviewing the incident to understand the events fully.
This case highlights ongoing challenges in managing high-risk detainees and the influence of social media in criminal bravado, as authorities continue their search for the fugitive rapper.
