Former Football Club Owner Injured in Violent Mayfair Home Invasion

Millionaire businessman Fawaz Al-Hawasi, the former owner of Nottingham Forest, was pictured in bandages after being stabbed while defending his Mayfair mansion from masked raiders. The 57-year-old Kuwaiti businessman was reportedly in bed when the burglars forced entry into his £10 million London home in an apparent robbery attempt.

Violent Confrontation in the Bedroom

Trying to defend himself after the gang broke into his bedroom, Al-Hawasi was knifed in the hand and suffered a neck injury as well as multiple scratches during the violent confrontation. It remains unclear whether the masked raiders escaped with any of the luxury watches or jewellery that the businessman frequently displays on his social media accounts.

Police confirmed that the ex-football mogul's injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing, with inquiries continuing into the incident. His lawyers have urged the Metropolitan Police to provide more details about the suspects, expressing concerns that other visitors from the Arabian Gulf region might fear facing similar incidents in London.

Family Response and Social Media Reaction

Al-Hawasi's sister, Khawla Mubarak Al-Hasawi, posted on social media platform X to provide reassurance about her brother's condition. 'Fawaz is fine, by God's grace,' she wrote. 'May God protect him from all harm and bless him with the safety of his son, Abdulaziz.'

The Mayfair incident follows a worrying pattern of high-profile burglaries targeting wealthy individuals in the UK. Just weeks earlier, superstar couple Maya Jama and Manchester City defender Ruben Dias were targeted by 'away day burglars' at their £4 million mansion in Cheshire while both were out of the country.

Pattern of High-Profile Burglaries

In that separate incident, thousands of pounds worth of items were reportedly stolen from the couple's 6,300 square foot, four-bedroom home, including designer clothes, jewellery, and electronics. The burglary was discovered by the Manchester City player upon his return home, where he found their valuables missing.

Meanwhile, in another concerning London incident, Mick Jagger's fiancée Melanie Hamrick revealed how she was 'physically attacked' by two men while at Annabel's, a private members' club in Mayfair. The 38-year-old choreographer described being grabbed from behind in what appeared to be an opportunistic mugging attempt.

'This is incredibly hard to share, but I was physically attacked at Annabel's Mayfair tonight,' Hamrick wrote on Instagram. 'I'm so thankful to my friends for protecting me. Two people grabbed me from behind, and thank god for good people who stepped in to help me.'

She added that she felt 'shaken, sad and heartbroken that people can treat each other this way.' Hamrick has been in a relationship with the 82-year-old Rolling Stones legend since 2014, though he was not present during the attack.

Ongoing Police Investigations

These incidents highlight growing concerns about crime targeting affluent individuals in London's most exclusive neighborhoods. The Metropolitan Police continue their investigations into the Al-Hawasi case while dealing with multiple high-profile criminal incidents across the capital.

As inquiries progress, authorities face increasing pressure to address security concerns among London's wealthy residents and international visitors, particularly those from the Gulf region who have expressed specific anxieties following this violent home invasion.
