Emmerdale spoilers: Charity fights Todd, Kev returns, crime rocks village

Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) continues her tumultuous journey after her sickening sexual assault at the hands of vile Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) in Emmerdale next week. Despite bravely reporting Todd's vicious blackmail campaign, Charity feels defeated by the police's response. While Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) tries his hardest to look after his suffering wife, it's Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) who finally gets through to her.

Charity's fight for justice

On Monday June 29, Charity reveals to DS Reid (Angela Lonsdale) that Todd was blackmailing her prior to the sexual assault. She is dismayed to learn it will be treated separately from the initial charge, leaving her further wounded that she has failed to protect Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill). Mack is further worried about Charity when she insists on attending Leyla's christening. Meanwhile, Sarah's suspicions are raised when Serena lets slip that she knows all about John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), but she parks her concerns when she learns that Serena has been sleeping in her car and offers her a bed.

On Tuesday June 30, Serena manages to boost a despondent Charity, who reaffirms her dedication to securing justice against Todd. There's a flash forward to a crime scene, and a motionless hand covered in blood. As police cover every inch of the scene, a flash photograph reveals the victim.

Kev Townsend's return

Claudette Anderson (Flo Wilson) is thrilled at Kev's re-emergence and offers him a place to stay. When he reveals to her that Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) is his son, but wants nothing to do with him, she fiercely encourages him to pursue the relationship, insisting that he's a good man who deserves a family.

Kev makes Robert Sugden's (Ryan Hawley) day when he suggests getting divorced, before seriously irritating Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) when he uses the café toilets to fill a bucket with water to clean his trailer. Nicola is less than pleased at his re-emergence and resolves to rid the village of him forever.

On Wednesday July 1, Kev is irked when he can't remember where he knows Serena from as an irate Nicola schemes to get him out of the village.

Cain confronts Graham

When Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) learns from Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) that Kyle has Graham Foster's (Andrew Scarborough) watch, he confronts Graham who tells him that Kyle was behind the fires at Emmerdale farm. Deeply wounded that Kyle chose to open up to Graham rather than him, Cain confronts his son.

Police arrive for Mack

Following a series of events, Charity and Mack are blindsided when the police arrive, looking to speak to Mack.

Bloody crime rocks the village

Elsewhere, a bloody crime rocks the village as the police swarm, but who's the victim? And moreover, who's the perpetrator? The flash forward to a crime scene with a motionless hand covered in blood suggests a shocking development.
