Detectives from the Metropolitan Police are appealing to the public for help in identifying a man wanted in connection with an indecent exposure incident in a West London woodland.
Details of the Offence
The unsettling event occurred on Monday, July 21, at approximately 6.40pm. A woman in her 40s was walking her dog in the area of Ruislip Woods, near Wiltshire Lane, when she was approached by a stranger.
According to police reports, the man was wearing nothing but a white T-shirt before he exposed himself to the victim. Following the incident, the suspect promptly left the scene.
Description of the Suspect
Police have now released a detailed e-fit image of the individual they wish to speak to. The suspect is described as a white male with long, floppy, wind-swept brown hair.
He is further distinguished by a dark beard that runs between his ears. Despite his state of undress during the offence, investigators believe he was also in possession of an Adidas jumper.
Police Appeal for Information
Detective Constable James Scarr, from the Western Area Local Investigations team, provided context for the public appeal. He stated that the incident took place early on a Monday evening, not far from a residential area.
DC Scarr explained, "Months have elapsed, and we have explored most lines of enquiry in this case – with limited forensic and CCTV opportunities available. We have taken the decision to release an e-fit of a man we wish to speak to in connection with the investigation."
He emphasised the seriousness of the crime, noting, "Indecent exposure is a repulsive form of sexual offending, which can escalate to even more serious criminality. We are committed to stamping it out."
Authorities are urging anyone who recognises the person in the e-fit, or who witnessed anything unusual in the Ruislip Woods area on that July evening, to make contact immediately.
Information can be provided by calling 101 and quoting the reference number 6724/21JUL.
