A distressing case unfolding at Warwick Crown Court has revealed the harrowing ordeal of a vulnerable 12-year-old girl in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, who was allegedly raped just hours after another man attempted to abduct her by the neck with sexual intent.
Two Separate Attacks on a Single Evening
Prosecutor Daniel Oscroft outlined to jurors that the case involves two men, Ahmad Mulakhil, 23, and Mohammad Kabir, 24, who both targeted the same young girl on the evening of Tuesday, July 22, 2025. The incidents occurred during a light summer evening, with the girl initially playing in a park.
Alleged Attempted Abduction and Strangulation
Mohammad Kabir is accused of attempting to abduct the child by trying to get her to come with him and grabbing her by the neck in an act of strangulation. Mr Oscroft stated that the prosecution suggests Kabir's actions could only have had a sexual purpose, given the context and lack of alternative explanation.
Kabir was reportedly with Mulakhil at the time, and the two appear to have been friends. While the girl did not go with Kabir, Mulakhil remained in the area and later met her again.
Subsequent Rape and Sexual Assault
Ahmad Mulakhil is alleged to have talked to the girl and led her to a secluded cul-de-sac, Cheverel Place, where he raped her, sexually assaulted her, and took indecent images. He faces charges including child abduction, vaginal and anal rape, sexual assault, and making indecent images of a child.
Jurors were informed that Mulakhil has pleaded guilty to a charge of oral rape of the 12-year-old but denies the other offences. The court heard that the girl, described as very young and vulnerable, claimed to be aged 19 during the interaction, but Mr Oscroft characterised this as an obvious lie that Mulakhil did not believe.
Evidence and Defendant Statements
Investigators seized Mulakhil's phone after his arrest, finding indecent images and photos of the two defendants together, confirming their acquaintance. Mulakhil's DNA was reportedly found on the girl's neck and inside her clothing.
In interviews, Kabir provided a prepared statement denying all allegations. When confronted with CCTV, phone evidence, and images placing him with Mulakhil on multiple days, including the day after the alleged offences, he initially denied but ultimately accepted appearing in some footage, though he declined to give explanations.
Mulakhil admitted meeting the girl twice on July 22, near a park and later alone near a residential street, but claimed only consensual oral sex occurred. Assisted by interpreters, he insisted the girl followed him voluntarily, denying force, threats, or restraint, and said he believed she was in her twenties based on his friend's claim.
Ongoing Trial and Charges
Mohammad Kabir, also of no fixed address, denies intentional strangulation, committing an offence with intent to commit a sexual offence, and attempting to take a child. The trial continues as the court examines the evidence and testimonies in this deeply troubling case.
