The following corrections have been made to recent articles in the Guardian.
Ivor Montagu
An article about table tennis and Soviet spy Ivor Montagu incorrectly stated he was an Old Etonian. In fact, he attended Westminster School. The article, titled 'England’s game, the world’s sport: ‘whiff whaff’ comes home' (25 April, Sport, p12), has been corrected.
Yesteryear Novel
A review of the novel Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke stated the book was partly set in 1805. This was due to an error in the version supplied by the publisher. The correct setting is 1855. The review appeared in 'God and the gram' (18 April, Saturday magazine, p52).
Black Death Illustration
A review of a book about the Black Death was accompanied by an illustration from a 14th-century manuscript. The caption said it showed victims of the plague, but they actually had leprosy. The review was in 'Pandemic days' (11 April, Saturday magazine, p49).
