A man shot in a quadruple shooting in Brixton has died, and police have named him as Keanu Taylor, 25. The drive-by attack also left three other people injured, including a 70-year-old pensioner, who were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.
Shooting Details
Police responded to reports of multiple shots fired on Coldharbour Lane, Brixton, at approximately 1:15 AM on Saturday, May 2. Officers arrived to find four victims with gunshot wounds. Despite medical efforts, Keanu Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victims, aged 21, 47, and 70, were taken to hospital for treatment.
The gunman remains at large, and no arrests have been made. Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, leading the investigation, said: "As we work quickly to identify those responsible, our thoughts are with Keanu’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time."
Police Appeal
DCI Bhangoo described the attack as "a shocking act of violence which has had a devastating impact on those involved and the local community." He reassured residents that officers are "working urgently to identify and apprehend those responsible." He urged anyone with information or footage to come forward, stating: "Even the smallest detail could prove crucial to our investigation."
Local residents should expect an increased police presence in the area over the coming days. Anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak to officers.
Possible Link to Stabbing
Approximately one hour after the shooting, police were called to Acre Lane, near Coldharbour Lane, where a 33-year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition. No arrests have been made in connection with that incident either. Detectives are investigating whether the two events are linked.
