British dad missing in Benidorm after meeting new people

Neil Ginter, a father from Plymouth, has been reported missing in Benidorm after he failed to contact his family for more than 24 hours. The Stagecoach bus driver vanished during a holiday at the popular Spanish resort, having struck up friendships with several individuals during his trip.

Family's desperate plea

Terri Purland, who shares a child with Ginter, filed a missing person report on Wednesday, 1 July. She described him as bald, with a distinctive tribal tattoo covering his right arm, tattooed lettering along his left forearm, and a stocky build. His family's concerns have been heightened by his complete absence from social media activity.

Purland issued a plea to expats, tourists, and local residents for any information. She said: "Looking for my son's dad who is in Benidorm but no one has heard from him for over 24 hours. No posts on Facebook or even being active. He's met a few people while there. If anyone has seen or heard from him can you please get in contact."

Benidorm's popularity and recent cases

Benidorm attracts approximately 900,000 British visitors annually. Ginter's disappearance follows another case where British national Michael Hewitt went missing in Barcelona on 21 June while travelling to the USA to watch the World Cup. Hewitt, known as 'Little Mick', was found after a 10-day search, having lost his mobile phone and being unaware of the search. His brother Gary said: "Little Mick is safe and well in Barcelona, and was blissfully unaware that the world was searching for him."
