Another Assassin's Creed Remake in Development After Black Flag

A new report suggests that Ubisoft is developing at least one more Assassin's Creed remake following the upcoming release of Assassin's Creed Black Flag: Resynced. The remake of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag is set to be officially revealed in a presentation on Thursday, but details have already emerged ahead of time.

Black Flag Remake Details

The remake, titled Assassin's Creed Black Flag: Resynced, has been rumored for years but was only confirmed last month via a single image in a blog post that never explicitly mentioned the game. According to Insider Gaming, the remake will not include any of the original game's DLC, notably the single-player expansion Freedom Cry, which focused on Edward Kenway's quartermaster Adéwalé. Ubisoft reportedly does not plan to release any DLC for the remake, even if it is successful, with the focus remaining solely on Edward's campaign. Additionally, the multiplayer mode, where players hunt each other online, will also be absent. This mode was similar to that of Assassin's Creed 3 but featured new modes and features.

Future Remakes

According to the same report, Ubisoft is working on 'at least one more' Assassin's Creed remake, with future remakes depending on the success of Black Flag: Resynced. While no details have been provided on the other remake, the obvious candidate is Assassin's Creed 2. The Ezio trilogy, which includes Assassin's Creed 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations, is the most beloved in the series, making it a logical choice for a remake. Another possibility is a revamp of the 2007 original, which could make sense if Ubisoft wants to redo the Desmond Miles saga from the beginning, though the present-day storyline has often been confusing and poorly received.

Other Assassin's Creed Games in Development

Beyond Black Flag: Resynced, Ubisoft has confirmed three other Assassin's Creed games in development: the next mainline installment, codenamed Hexe; a PvP multiplayer title codenamed Invictus; and a mobile game called Assassin's Creed: Jade.

As the gaming community eagerly awaits the official reveal of Black Flag: Resynced, speculation continues about which classic title will receive the remake treatment next. With the Ezio trilogy being a fan favorite, many hope Ubisoft will capitalize on its popularity.
