Serial predator raped woman, killed two more, jury hears

Simon Levy, a 40-year-old man from Tottenham, North London, has been described as a "predatory serial sexual predator" who raped one woman and killed two others over an eight-month period last year, a jury at the Old Bailey has heard.

Prosecution outlines a pattern of attacks

Prosecutor Tom Little KC told the court that Levy committed "a series of predatory sexual attacks in the first eight months of 2025 on three women, each in their own way very vulnerable." The women all engaged in sex work for money or drugs, which the prosecution says is how Levy encountered them and why he attacked them, hoping he would get away with it.

Levy is accused of raping one woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, in January 2025, as well as assault occasioning grievous bodily harm (GBH) and non-fatal suffocation. He also faces murder charges for the deaths of Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo in March 2025 and Sheryl Wilkins in August 2025.

Details of the attacks

Ms Valencia-Trujillo, 53, was found dead in a largely disused block of flats on the Aylesbury estate in Southwark, south-east London, on March 17 last year. Ms Wilkins, 39, was found collapsed near High Road, Tottenham, at 6.30am on August 24 last year, in the same car park where the January rape allegedly took place.

Mr Little said: "A series of attacks upon vulnerable women who either undertook sex work or who by reason of drug addiction would sometimes perform sexual services for money and/or drugs. Therefore, a series of attacks committed we say by the same predatory serial sexual attacker in a similar way."

Surviving victim's account

Jurors were told that the woman Levy allegedly raped was left "as good as for dead" after Levy jumped on her with all his weight, breaking her collarbone, and raped her while covering her face and grabbing at her throat. Four days after the alleged attack, she was arrested for breach of a community order while on her way to hospital for treatment for the collarbone injury. She told police she had been raped but was not well enough to be interviewed at the time due to heroin withdrawal.

In September 2025, the woman was interviewed and described how she thought she was going to die during the alleged rape as she could not breathe and lost consciousness. The physical description she gave and the address details matched Levy, and she identified him in an identification parade.

Defendant's plea and trial

Levy, of Beaufoy Road, Tottenham, has pleaded not guilty to the two murder charges and has denied two charges of rape, GBH with intent, and non-fatal suffocation against the surviving woman. In police interview, he claimed the sex was consensual and denied hurting her. The trial is being heard before Judge Mark Lucraft KC.
