Daniel Siad, a modelling scout under investigation in France for his alleged role in helping Jeffrey Epstein traffic and abuse women, has been found dead at his home outside Paris. The Nanterre prosecutor's office confirmed the discovery on Wednesday, stating that an investigation into the cause of death was opened Monday evening. An autopsy has yet to be carried out.

Siad, 69, was one of several men investigated in connection with the late financier's sex trafficking network. His name appeared more than 1,000 times in the Epstein files, and he faced accusations including rape. Siad denied any wrongdoing and expressed a desire to be heard and give his version of events.
Emails reveal disturbing recruitment tactics
In a 2014 message to Epstein, Siad compared recruiting women to fishing, writing: 'In This busyness I feel like fisherman some time I cache quick, some time no fish [sic].' He listed girls from Sweden, Slovakia, France, Russia, and China. Epstein responded: 'I will reimburse you of course for any expenses.' Later, Siad claimed Epstein had 'taken advantage of his trust.'
Connection to Jean-Luc Brunel
Siad worked as a scout on commission for modelling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, who was arrested in 2020 on accusations of recruiting women for Epstein. Brunel was found dead in prison in February 2022 after 14 months awaiting trial on charges of rape of minors and sexual harassment, which he denied.
