Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, a 45-year-old British citizen of Zimbabwean heritage, has been arrested in Johannesburg, South Africa, on suspicion of murdering his wife and two daughters in Bedfordshire. The South African Police Service (SAPS) confirmed the arrest following an intensive operation involving the SAPS Interpol National Central Bureau, Crime Intelligence, and the Organised Crime Investigation Unit.
Victims and Discovery
The victims were identified as Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, 42, known as Zandile, and her two daughters, Natalie, 15, and Nala, five. Their bodies were found in a £1.3 million detached house on Carnoustie Drive in Great Denham, near Bedford, after concerns were raised on Monday that they had not been seen for several days.
Arrest and Extradition
Tshuma, who also goes by the name Mark, was traced and arrested in Kensington, Johannesburg, through swift operational coordination and intelligence-led policing, according to SAPS. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday. Bedfordshire Police stated that work has already begun to return him to the UK, noting that he is believed to have traveled to South Africa from Zimbabwe after leaving the UK on Saturday. He has been remanded in custody.

Detective Inspector Lee Martin, the senior investigating officer, said: 'This has been a fast-moving investigation which has involved multiple law enforcement partners, including the National Crime Agency, Interpol and authorities in both Zimbabwe and South Africa. Thanks to the tireless work and dedication of all those involved, we have managed to swiftly locate and arrest Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, who we want to speak to in connection with this shocking and tragic case.'
Martin added that the investigation remains ongoing, and authorities will work closely with counterparts in South Africa, the National Crime Agency, and the Crown Prosecution Service to bring Tshuma back to the UK. He expressed condolences for the victims, saying: 'Our thoughts remain very much with Zandile, Natalie and Nala, as well as their loved ones, at this time.'
