Peter Andrews, the father of Katie Price's husband Lee Andrews, has been released from Dubai's Al Awir prison just days after reports emerged that he was arrested alongside his son. Lee Andrews, 43, was also reportedly released after his second stint behind bars in recent weeks, though he continues to face allegations of fraud.
Ongoing Legal Troubles
According to The Sun, Peter Andrews still faces fraud allegations, similar to his son. Lee was reportedly arrested over unpaid debts. A source told the outlet: 'Katie is aware that Peter has been let out and has spoken to him. She's focusing on her life and job commitments in the UK at the moment and just putting her best foot forward.'
Lee's release comes days after reports that he was frantically trying to raise £120,000 to pay off a fine. He had even allegedly suggested selling a sex tape featuring himself and Katie Price for a 'pretty penny'. The former glamour model later denied the tape exists, and a source claimed she is at 'the end of her tether' with the jail drama.
Denial and Hope for a Fresh Start
Lee has denied any wrongdoing and is reportedly hoping to pay off his debts and return to the UK to 'start his life afresh'. 'Whether poor Katie will be there to greet him on the other side remains to be seen,' said The Sun's insider previously.
It is understood that Lee first served jail time last autumn after allegedly taking out a £200,000 mortgage in his ex-girlfriend's name without her knowledge. In May, Lee vanished and ghosted his wife, leading her to fear he had been kidnapped. Social media sleuths attempted to locate him. Katie liaised with authorities in the UAE and publicly pleaded for her husband's safe return, as he was not receiving or answering her messages. Lee's family reported him as a missing person.
Weeks later, it emerged that Lee was actually in jail, with court documents revealing two outstanding legal cases against him. This included an alleged £54,000 debt linked to a rental car company and a separate claim for approximately £15,000 in unpaid legal fees.
