Kieran Hayler, the former husband of glamour model and television personality Katie Price, has made his first court appearance after being charged with multiple sexual offences against a teenage girl.
Court Arrival and Charges
The 38-year-old personal trainer arrived at Crawley Magistrates' Court this morning as snow fell, keeping his head down while approaching waiting photographers. Hayler faces three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving a 13-year-old girl.
According to Sussex Police, the alleged offences are said to have occurred between June 1 and October 13, 2016 at an address in West Sussex. During this period, Hayler was still married to Katie Price, though the alleged victim is not related to either Hayler or Price.
Legal Response and Investigation Status
Hayler's legal representatives have stated that he strongly denies all allegations made against him. In a statement to the Daily Mail, his lawyers confirmed: "Mr Hayler is fully engaged and has been co-operating with the police throughout the investigation and will continue to do so. He looks forward to his name being cleared, believing in the judicial system to do so."
The alleged victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has received support from specially trained officers as enquiries continue. Hayler remains released under investigation while the legal process continues.
Katie Price's Potential Involvement
Sources from the Crown Prosecution Service indicate that Katie Price may be called to give evidence during the proceedings. A CPS source told The Sun: "Katie may well be called to court to give evidence. She was married to Kieran when these offences are said to have happened; it wouldn't be surprising for her to be called up."
Although Price hasn't released an official statement regarding her ex-husband's charges, she appeared to allude to the situation during a recent performance at The Clapham Grand in London. Speaking about her early traumatic experiences with men, she mentioned: "What I've gone through, and – how do I word it – current news, I had a real reason to be wary of things because it's closer to home than you realise. I can't say anymore on it, but I'm sure you know what I'm getting to."
Hayler and Price were married from 2013 until their final separation in 2018, though they didn't formally divorce until 2021. Their relationship was marked by multiple reconciliations and vow renewals in both 2015 and 2017 before ultimately ending. The couple share two children together.
Since separating from Price, Hayler had been in a relationship with Michelle Penticost, with whom he shares a three-year-old son. However, the couple ended their engagement in February after seven years together.
The case continues to develop as legal proceedings move forward at Crawley Magistrates' Court.
