An Idaho mother who claimed her 18-month-old twins died from vaccines has been charged with murder. Andrea Shaw, 23, was indicted on two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Tyson and Dallas, found dead in a shared bed on 1 May 2023 in Payette, Idaho.
Police response and initial investigation
Police responded to a report of a possibly deceased child and discovered the twin siblings deceased. The case was investigated as a homicide, with the cause of death pending determination by the Ada County medical examiner's office. Over a year later, the cause has not been publicly released.
Podcast appearance and claims
Days after the deaths, Shaw and her husband appeared on a podcast by Children's Health Defense, previously led by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., claiming vaccines killed her children. Shaw stated she was considered a suspect and that police alleged asphyxiation during a postpartum blackout. A GiveSendGo fundraiser linked to the episode raised over $10,000.
Attorney's allegations and evidence
Shaw's attorney, Joseph Filicetti, alleged to KTVB that the twins died from vaccinations, citing medical experts but providing no evidence. Court documents indicate the indictment alleges Shaw suffocated her toddlers. A civil lawsuit against the American Academy of Pediatrics, filed with Children's Health Defense, stated no alternative cause of death was identified.
Arrest and court proceedings
Shaw was arrested without incident in Boise on 30 June and held on a $2 million bond. Payette police stated they would have no further comment as the case is before the court. Shaw's next appearance is scheduled for 14 July in Payette County District Court.
