EastEnders spoilers follow for Monday's (May 4) episode, now available on BBC iPlayer. Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) was left stunned when she discovered that Eddie Knight (Christopher Fairbank) had contacted George (Colin Salmon) with a major secret.
Eddie, George's adoptive father, was revealed to be a racist murderer who killed a Black man decades ago. George witnessed the murder as a child. In 2024, George learned that the victim, Henry Kofi Asare, was his birth father. George testified against Eddie, who was sentenced to prison for racially motivated murder. George cut all ties with him.
In the two years since, George started a relationship with Nicola, who gave birth to their daughter Ivy prematurely. In Monday's episode, Nicola returned home from hospital with Ivy. She struggled with the adjustment, sending away well-wishers. Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) reassured Nicola that she is a good mother, crediting her for Harry's (Elijah Holloway) success. Meanwhile, George missed several calls from Eddie, which Nicola assumed were from the hospital. To her shock, the calls were from Eddie.
Keeping this from George, Nicola visited Eddie in the hospital. He revealed he has lung cancer and wants to make things right with George before he dies. Nicola insisted George wants nothing to do with him, but the news left her shaken. Will she tell George about the visit? Pictures confirm George does visit Eddie, but Eddie's intentions remain unclear.
