Maya Jama has reportedly ended her relationship with Manchester City footballer Ruben Dias after 18 months together, according to sources close to the couple. The split comes just three weeks before the TV presenter was scheduled to fly to Inverness to film the new series of The Celebrity Traitors.
Relationship Timeline
The pair first began dating in December 2024 after meeting at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Manchester the month prior. Maya had relocated to a mansion in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, to be closer to Ruben, leaving her London base. Now, it is claimed both have started deleting loved-up photos from their social media accounts, as reported by The Sun.
Previous Romances
Before dating Maya, Ruben was in a relationship with Portuguese singer April Ivy from 2018 to 2021. Maya's most high-profile romance before Ruben was with British rapper Stormzy. The Love Island host was first with Stormzy from January 2015 to August 2019. They briefly rekindled in 2023 after a holiday in Greece, but split for good in July 2024. In a joint statement, they said: "We decided to try for the final time in August 2023, and we’ve spent this past year trying our best to make it work; however, we recently decided to call it quits."
Maya also dated former NBA player Ben Simmons, going public in July 2021 and announcing an engagement in January 2022, but they later split.
Home Burglary Ordeal
Earlier this year, Maya and Ruben endured a devastating burglary at their Cheshire home. Thousands of pounds worth of items, including designer clothes, jewellery, and electronics, were stolen from the 6,300 sq ft, four-bedroom property, which also features an indoor leisure suite, landscaped gardens, and a security system.
