A right-wing influencer who made inflammatory remarks about 'parasites raping their way through the UK' has been banned from entering Britain. Joey Mannarino, a prominent MAGA figure, was blocked from travelling to the UK by the Home Office ahead of his planned appearance at a Tommy Robinson rally this month. Officials stated that his presence was 'not conducive to the public good' and cancelled his Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA).
Details of the Ban
Mannarino posted on X that he had used the ETA to visit the UK four or five times since last May. He intended to return for a Unite the Kingdom rally organised by Robinson on May 16, followed by a Conservative Political Action Conference hosted by Liz Truss in July. The Home Office's rejection notice, shared on X, read: 'Your UK ETA has been cancelled from 6 May, 2026. This means you cannot travel to the UK without a visa. This is because: Your presence in the UK is not considered to be conducive to the public good. You cannot appeal this decision. If you still want to travel to the UK, you need to apply for a visa so we can consider your circumstances in more detail.'
Previous Incidents and Controversial Statements
Mannarino had previously attended far-right marches in the UK. Last summer, he participated in a March for Remigration event organised by Britain First. According to the pressure group Hope not Hate, Mannarino used his speech to declare: 'We need to deport the parasites who are raping their way through America, Europe and the United Kingdom.' He also sparked outrage with a tweet stating he would 'never believe a victim of rape again in my life no matter the verdict in court' in relation to a sex case against President Trump, adding: 'All rape cases have just become fake to me.'
Broader Context of Bans
Mannarino is not the first US MAGA figure to be barred from Robinson's rally. Last month, Valentina Gomez, a self-styled anti-Muslim influencer, was also banned from entering the UK. Gomez dared the government to stop her and suggested Donald Trump's White House would intervene. Separately, Shabana Mahmood prevented Kanye West from performing at Wireless Festival this summer due to past antisemitic comments.
Mannarino's Response
In response to the Home Office email, Mannarino tweeted: 'Today, I just woke up to this notice in my email. They have banned an American citizen from their country for no apparent reason whatsoever. I assume for matters of freedom of speech, but they haven't clarified. I will most certainly be appealing that decision and applying for a visa through the formal process to see exactly why they've deemed me ineligible to come over.' He added: 'Free speech is DEAD in the United Kingdom. Absolutely dead. The Labour government has taken whatever was left of it and destroyed it.'
Upcoming Rally and Security Concerns
The Metropolitan Police is reviewing whether Robinson's Unite the Kingdom march should proceed in the wake of the Golders Green terror attack. They are also considering a pro-Palestine Nakba Day march scheduled for the same day. The final decision rests with Mahmood, who could downgrade one or both protests to 'static' events to reduce disruption risk.
