Laura Clery Survives 600lb Fridge Accident

US comedian Laura Clery has shared a harrowing account of how she nearly died when her 600lb fridge fell on her while she was at home with her two young children. The incident left her pinned under the massive appliance, struggling to breathe.

The Terrifying Incident

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Clery described the experience as the “most terrifying night of my life as a single mom.” She also provided a more detailed account on Patreon.

Clery explained that she saw her seven-year-old son, Alfie, climbing on the wall-mounted fridge, causing it to shift slightly. “I ran over to push it back into place. I thought I’d just nudge it in and move on with my day like a woman who has control over her life. The second I pushed it, it came down on me,” she said.

She added: “I couldn’t move. Couldn’t breathe right. It was impossible to get off and I could feel myself losing consciousness. I’m just there, pinned under a fridge, thinking this is the dumbest way anyone has ever died.”

Rescue and Recovery

Fortunately, Clery was able to reach her phone and call 911. “I genuinely didn’t know if I was getting out of that alive. Thank God my phone was in my pocket and I was able to call 911,” she said. It took multiple firefighters to lift the fridge off her. She was immediately taken to hospital.

Clery was once married to British record producer Stephen Hilton, with whom she has two children: Alfie and five-year-old Poppy. She is now back home and recovering from the incident.
