It's the dinner party from hell next week in Coronation Street, and we're all invited! Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) and Maria Connor's (Samia Longchambon) suspicions over their respective partners, Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) and Gary Windass (Mikey North) reach a dramatic conclusion when Kit throws a dinner party for all of them, inviting Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) and Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), too. As the tension finally explodes, we finally find out who killed Theo Silverton (James Cartwright).
Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) continues to feel ignored by his family in the lead-up to the trial as they argue about how he should attend court, but when Susie Price (Aurora Bradshaw) discovers a link to Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) on his games console, are they worrying about the wrong thing entirely?
Elsewhere, Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) and Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) make a huge life step, Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) continues to worry about Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) and Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) attempts to deal with Fiona Morley (Sara Poyzer).
The football has again altered our daily dashes to Weatherfield, so here's a handy guide of what to expect, and when!
Monday, June 22 – double episode
Kit is harried when Sarah cancels their shopping trip, and when Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) teases that she's had a better offer, Maria, who's listening in, starts to panic. When Kit spies Sarah leaving the builders yard, he invites Summer, Todd, Gary and Maria to dinner that night. As Gary and Sarah tense up, Maria readily accepts the invitation.
As the dinner party gets underway, Maria wastes no time in aiming vicious digs at Sarah, while Kit continuously tries to get Gary on his own, throwing his own jabs about liars. As the main course is served, Maria can hold back no longer and announces that Gary and Sarah have been having an affair for weeks, leaving the table utterly speechless. As we're treated to a number of flashbacks, the ill-fated gathering ends with blood splattered across the table, and a murderer is unmasked.
Ronnie's pleas to Fiona that he doesn't know where the gun is fall on deaf ears, and she refuses his offer of cash, but makes another suggestion as to how he can pay her off. He later tells Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) that the problem is solved, but admits all to Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard). Elsewhere, Sam's reaction to losing a chess game to Roy Cropper (David Neilson) worries Nick.
Tuesday, June 23
As Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley), Ben, Maggie and Melanie Driscoll (Aaron McCusker, Pauline McLynn and Cindy Humphrey) battle over whether Will should attend court in person or by video link, Will himself seeks solace in Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine), upset that nobody seems to care what he thinks. Tim takes Will home and spells it out to his family that they should be listening to him.
Gary receives a frosty reception from Maria, while Sarah is shaken to discover the engagement ring box in Kit's bag, though she's later confronted by Todd who believes there's more going on between her and Gary than she's prepared to admit. Meanwhile, Nina and Asha offer to rent the shop flat, while Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) takes to a dating app.
Thursday, June 25
Gary needles Kit with the lack of evidence he has on him, before Todd confronts him, demanding answers. While Gary blames everything on Kit's jealousy, Todd turns to Sarah, brain whirring with the idea that Gary knows more about Theo's murder than he's letting on.
Sarah attempts to blot out her worries with alcohol, and Nick and David are worried when they find her absolutely hammered in the Rovers. Jodie attempts to calm them by relating her state to the attack, but when she makes a comment about the dog, Sarah's left with deep suspicions.
When Susie plays on Will's games console, she connects with a player and instantly hears Megan's voice and tells Ollie Driscoll (Raphael Akuwudike), leading he and Maggie burst into the back room to find Will chatting online. Ollie makes it clear that he knows that Will is still in touch with Megan and pleads with him to realise that she's trying to manipulate him prior to the impending trial.
Also, while Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) is heartbroken to realise Asha was serious about moving out, Nina worries how Roy will take the news, and Jodie moves her date to the bistro after learning David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) will be there, aiming to make him jealous. Todd turns to George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) for support, and when he reveals how lonely he feels, he and Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) plead with him to move back in and Summer takes Asha, Nina and Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) out for dinner.
