Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) finds herself in a precarious position as she contends with the unhinged Dr. Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) in Emmerdale. Dr. Todd, who knows that baby Leyla is not the child of Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) and Jacob Sugden (Joe-Warren Plant), has demanded £100,000 to keep the secret. Charity, lacking the funds, is desperate to find the money within the one-week deadline.
Charity's Growing Anger
As Charity stresses over the blackmail, her anger towards Caitlin intensifies, especially as Caitlin develops a relationship with Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick). Vanessa is unaware that Caitlin is blackmailing Charity and previously tormented Jacob. In tonight's episode, Vanessa is surprised when Caitlin suggests a weekend getaway to Sheffield. However, Charity manages to plant seeds of doubt in Vanessa's mind, warning her to be cautious around Dr. Todd.
Vanessa's Doubts
Back at the bar, Vanessa tells Caitlin they should postpone their weekend away, claiming she doesn't want to rush things. Caitlin glances at Charity, suspecting her influence, but says nothing. As Vanessa leaves, Dr. Todd taunts Charity, saying their pub lunch is on the house—or she can deduct it from the money she owes. Dr. Todd is ruthless in her quest for money, caring little about whom she hurts.
What's Next for Charity?
If Dr. Todd discovers that Vanessa is pulling away because of Charity, she might abandon the money plan and reveal the secret about baby Leyla. Meanwhile, Charity invites Kim Tate (Claire King) over to ask her to buy her shares in the pub. Kim is suspicious, wondering why Charity would sell unless in trouble. Kim does not confirm if she will accept the offer. With time running out, Charity must find another solution.
Emmerdale continues to deliver gripping drama as Charity's desperate moves could backfire spectacularly. Will she find the money, or will Dr. Todd expose the truth?
