Security Force Headquarters Targeted in Coordinated Assault
Three officers from a Pakistani security force have been killed following an attack by multiple suicide bombers on their headquarters in the city of Peshawar. The assault, which took place on Monday, 24th November 2025, also left five other individuals wounded, according to police and rescue officials.
Details of the Attack Emerge
The violence erupted when one assailant detonated an explosive device at the main gate of the paramilitary headquarters. This facility is located in a sensitive area near Pakistan's border with Afghanistan. Police Chief Saeed Ahmad provided further details, confirming that a second bomber was shot and killed by security personnel in the vicinity of the building's parking area.
He credited the swift reaction of the officers on duty with preventing a significantly higher number of casualties. While the precise sequence of events is still being established, international news agency Reuters has reported that a third suicide bomber was involved in the coordinated attack.
Regional Tensions and Unclaimed Responsibility
As of now, no militant group has publicly claimed responsibility for the deadly incident. This attack occurs against a backdrop of escalating violence in the region, marked by a recent uptick in activity from Islamist militants.
The situation has been further inflamed by deadly border clashes that occurred between Pakistan and Afghanistan last month. The Pakistani government has repeatedly accused the Afghan Taliban of providing sanctuary to militants who, they assert, plan and launch cross-border attacks from Afghan soil.
