He further explained that this footage was recovered from residual data located in backend systems, indicating sophisticated forensic work by investigators. This technical recovery was particularly important because the doorbell camera at Ms Guthrie's home had been disconnected early on Sunday 1 February, shortly before her disappearance.

Despite software recording movement at the property minutes after the disconnection, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed that none of this footage could be retrieved because Ms Guthrie did not maintain an active subscription service for her security system.
