Casualty spoilers follow for Saturday’s (June 13) episode, now available on BBC iPlayer and airing on BBC One at 8:35pm.
Stevie Nash’s (Elinor Lawless) world has been shattered after former friend and colleague Dylan Keogh (William Beck) filed a complaint against her following a shocking discovery.
Viewers know Dr Nash has been sleeping with Matty Linlaker (Aron Julius) after they grew close following Kim Chang’s (Jasmine Bayes) tragic death. Matty admitted he was falling for Stevie, but she didn’t feel the same and ended the relationship via text message last week.
Complicating matters, Stevie was having a heart-to-heart with old pal Flynn Byron (Olly Rix) when she wrote the text, and it was clear feelings were stirring between them.
This week, Matty woke up hungover in his car, struggling with the rejection. Stevie reiterated her decision, and Matty backed down until he learned about Stevie and Flynn’s night out, putting two and two together.
While tending to a patient, Matty snapped at Stevie publicly. Dylan intervened, scolding Matty for his behavior. But Dylan’s perception shifted when he discovered Stevie was the woman Matty was involved with and that she had covered up a morphine overdose she accidentally administered to a patient.
Matty assured Dylan he would handle it, then drew a line with Stevie, urging her to believe she is worth falling for. The situation seemed resolved.
However, Stevie was summoned to Flynn’s office, where he revealed a complaint had been made about a serious, near-fatal mistake and that she allowed a junior staff member—with whom she had a sexual relationship—to help cover it up.
Flynn labeled it sexual coercion, leaving Stevie stunned. She was relieved of her duties and told an inquiry would follow. As she left, Dylan looked at her with an expression that confirmed he was the one who informed Flynn.
Is this the end for Stevie’s career? Will she recover? And how will Matty react when he learns Dylan took matters out of his hands?
Casualty airs Saturday at 8:35pm on BBC One or streams from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
