Emergency services are searching for three people following a devastating house fire in the early hours of Boxing Day in Gloucestershire.

Emergency Response to Early Morning Blaze

Firefighters, police, and ambulance crews were called to a property on Brimscombe Hill, near Stroud, at approximately 3am on 26 December 2025. One individual managed to escape the burning building and was transported to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for medical treatment.

However, three other people, who are believed to have been inside the home at the time, remain missing. A Gloucestershire Police spokeswoman confirmed that efforts to locate them are ongoing.

Community Leaders React to 'Tragedy'

The incident has been described as a profound loss for the local area. Simon Opher, the Labour MP for Stroud, stated on Facebook that the news from Brimscombe was "awful."

"Our hearts go out to those involved," Opher wrote. "We will do what we can to support the victims and their families. It is a tragedy for the whole community." He added that he had been in contact with police to offer support.

Green Party councillor Chloe Turner, who represents Minchinhampton on Stroud District Council, echoed these sentiments. She urged anyone with information to come forward.

"If anyone in the community has information that may assist in the investigation, or needs any support as a result of the incident, please call 101," she posted in a local Facebook group. "My thoughts are very much with everyone impacted by this tragic incident."

Ongoing Investigation and Disruption

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the Boxing Day fire. Roads in the vicinity were closed while emergency services worked at the scene, and the public was advised to avoid the area.

The police spokeswoman reiterated that all emergency services are working closely together. The community now waits anxiously for news as the search continues for the three unaccounted-for individuals.
