Three people have been taken to hospital following a police incident in Newham in the early hours of this morning (September 14). Emergency services were called to Plashet Grove, a busy street in the Upton Park area, shortly before 3.10am.
Emergency response and hospitalisation
The London Ambulance Service treated three people at the scene before taking them all for further medical attention. The nature and severity of the group's injuries are yet to be released by the Metropolitan Police.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service confirmed: "We were called at 3.08am today (14 September) to reports of an incident on Plashet Grove, East Ham. We sent ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars and an incident response officer to the scene. We treated three patients and took them all to hospital."
Road closure and diversions
Plashet Grove remains shut in both directions between Waterloo Road and Wortley Road, with two bus routes on diversion. The closure is currently in place between the junctions of Waterloo Road and Wyndham Road, blocking access to the area's many shops and cafes.
The road closure has been in effect for several hours, according to police. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area while investigations continue.
Ongoing police investigation
